A pro-Palestinian protest at the University of Southern California (USC) turned chaotic on Wednesday, as tensions escalated between demonstrators and campus police.

The protest, which began peacefully earlier in the week, grew in size and intensity as the week progressed. USC officials eventually made the decision to close the campus in response to the growing unrest.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) was called in to assist USC police in clearing the protest. At least 93 people were arrested by the LAPD.

The incident highlights the growing tensions between pro-Palestinian activists and universities across the country. In recent months, there have been a number of protests on college campuses in support of the Palestinian people. These protests have sometimes led to clashes with campus police and administrators.

It is unclear what the long-term impact of this incident will be on USC. However, the university is facing a difficult challenge in balancing the rights of its students to free speech and assembly with its responsibility to maintain a safe and orderly campus environment.
